"The Knowledge Commons"

Knowpost is a free information community. It's like a newsgroup but it concentrates on "how-to" information. It uses a token currency as an incentive to concentrate on answers and tries to corral opinion and comments into a separate "soapbox" section.

The currency is not cash, but sellers own the points they earn, in the sense that they can even give them away to other people. It's a viral stratagey that has attracted a lot of people to the site.

Like a newsgroup, the site lets you browse all the plaintext transactions.

It's a free service that pays in its currency of "points".
